Happy Easter!
Given the late snow on the ground, the Easter Bunny decided to hide eggs indoors this year. Smart rabbit. Still, all this snow sure makes the spring ritual feel a little odd. |

Bedtime Questions
Monday, March 15, 2010
As I was snuggling with Willow at bedtime, our nighttime conversation…
W: Mommy, who should I marry when I grow up?
J: I think you should marry someone who makes you laugh and is kind and makes you feel special…
W: But I want to marry Daddy, but he is already married to you.
J: You will find someone special too.
W: Where did you find him?
J: I found him at the WillowWood Market.
W: No you didn’t; tell me the truth.
J: That is the truth.
W: Oh.
J: Where did you think I found him?
W: I thought you found him in the forest.
J: Why did you think I found him in the forest?
W: I don’t know. <pause> Mommy?
J: Yes?
W: Can a boy marry two girls?
J: No, not in our country.
W: Oh.
J: Why?
W: Because Nathan said he was going to marry Elyssa and me. Ellie is going to marry Daniel. think I know who I will marry: I could marry Reese, but he has a real gun.
J: Is that bad?
W: Yes. I want someone with no guns and who is nice. Not Tristan. Not Jacob.
J: Oh. You know, it is possible that the person you will marry is someone you haven’t met yet. I didn’t know Daddy when I was four.
W: Hmmmm….who should I marry? I know who I will marry! I will marry Andrew! Yeah! Andrew is who I will marry!
J: Is Andrew a nice boy?
W: Yes, sometimes he is mean, but usually he is nice. I will marry Andrew. That is who I will marry.
J: Okay, but let’s relax now so you can fall asleep… |

A Sunny Day Of Play
We headed down to sunny Redding today where the temperature was in the low 70s. However, before doing so, we stopped by the local state park so that Juliane and Willow could show me the cougar on display there. It's easy to forget how big these cats get. I sure hope none of us ever encounter one so close that isn't behind glass. |
